Shiva – Parvati
King Parvataraja (also known as Giriraja and Shailaraja) and Menadevi had a daughter (Parvati) whom Menadevi wished to become Shiva’s wife. Parvati was devoted to Shiva from infancy and it was through this and her piety that she won Shiva’s affections.
